Kanye West....the state of the music industry

Just got the new Kanye album & its very good! He's released 5 solo albums now & all of them have sold HUGE amounts( all have gone platinum, which means they've sold over 1 million. Apart from 808's the rest have all sold over 2 million) now we keep hearing how the music industry is dead, but then we see adverts on TV pronouncing "The biggest selling artist since...."

If you have good songs people will still buy the music. I know its an old debate but people have always copied & traded music...& they always will!....which brings me to my next point!

ISP's charge ridiculous amounts for our Internet connections. Why? ...because they can! Telecom has a monopoly in this country. How much money did Telecom make last year? about 400million I think.....
we all use the net to download our fave movies & music, watch vids on youtube & generally soak up a lot of media. Maybe the ISP's & phone companies that are all posting MASSIVE profits year after year should be donating part of that profit to the music & movie industries? I mean most people do not make any money from the stuff that they download, the ISP's do! So why shouldn't they give something back? they are the ones taking money from the smaller bands & movie producers.

$400 million for NZ, imagine how much is being made around the world!? The rich get richer while everyone else is expected to pay the price....
